This is visually compelling proof that protecting the beach below Landfill #7 and the bluff upon which it sets is futile. The whole bluff is eroding. Fort Sheridan lies between Highland Park and Lake Forest. This was poor site selection for a toxic landfill. While excusable due to lack of information in the past, it is unforgivable to leave it where it is with today's knowledge of bluff erosion. Look at the undercut downlake of Waukegan's protected shoreline. That is what happens when you protect one location within an eroding area.
